JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is expected in late January 2027. If you are reading this in October, you have roughly 100 days. Here is how to use them in four phases.
Phase 1 · Days 100–61: strengthen the syllabus
- List the chapters you are weakest in. Finish the high-weightage ones first.
- Do one unit drill every day on the chapter you studied.
- Take one full 3-hour mock every week, on the same day and time.
- Start a mistake notebook. HeyGyan builds one automatically from your wrong answers.
Phase 2 · Days 60–31: test and fix
- Two full mocks a week. Review each one the same day or the next.
- Tag every mistake: concept gap, silly mistake, calculation error or time pressure. Fix the biggest category first.
- Do one numerical practice set a week. Section B questions have no options to fall back on.
Phase 3 · Days 30–8: exam rehearsal
- A full mock every other day, at the exact time of your exam shift (usually 9 am or 3 pm).
- Practise your attempt order: which subject first, and when to skip and return.
- Revise from your mistake notebook, not from fresh chapters.
Phase 4 · The last 7 days: calm and confident
- One or two light mocks only. Revise formula sheets and the mistakes you've corrected.
- Sleep 7–8 hours. Memory consolidates during sleep, and a tired brain makes silly mistakes.
- Check your admit card, exam centre route and documents two days before.
One bad mock isn't your result. Scores go up and down during preparation for everyone. If stress feels heavy, talk to someone you trust, or call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24×7).
Frequently asked questions
How many mock tests should I take before JEE Main?
A common target is 15–25 full mocks before the exam, but analysing each one matters more than the count. One analysed mock beats three unreviewed ones.
Is 100 days enough for JEE Main?
It is enough to improve your score meaningfully if you focus on high-weightage chapters, regular mocks and fixing repeated mistakes. It is not the time to start entirely new, low-weightage topics.
What should I do in the last week before JEE Main?
Revise formula sheets and your mistake notebook, take one or two mocks at your exam shift time, and protect your sleep. Avoid starting new chapters.
